food

Something tasty found on a shelf. A bag, slender only so, so tall. Crunchy, crispy, little bits drop as contents consumed without remorse. Maybe a little regret for what might’ve been. We should be else where facing ourselves down than here stuffing without content.

Wander around in search for food
many a foot trodden steps taken
even more turns of the bike cranks spun
how far, how soon
will hunger find end

If there was something to be said about here,
it’d be Ahh!
Fresh, tasty and nice priced too.
I drink at Quickly!
In all of my travels here,
here I travel to amongst the most.
When afar, I think to travel to back faster.
I drink at Quickly!

7/31/2009 – What can I say? I like my Linkou Quickly drink and 小吃 stand.

55 bucks, that’s it

by Michael Cannon on August 18, 2009 in Poetry

55 bucks, that’s it.
1 burger, 1 drink.
A pretty darn good deal, I consider it.
Freshly made, fairly natural too.
Oh so good, down the gullet.
For not even 2 US, to you.

7/31/2009 – Have I ever mentioned how much I love being here in Taiwan to readily sample all the variety and variants of the food here?
