Whether or not you believe it’s possible,
the world doesn’t care.
Our places are limited,
just look around to see.
Marks of us are nearly everywhere.
Even where we haven’t been,
the air we breathed has.
It’s important to take care of our home,
lest it become not for us to be.

by Michael Cannon on July 31, 2009 in Poetry

Walking around the floor.
A floor of toys galore.

The evening drink

by Michael Cannon on May 29, 2009 in Poetry

of two pitchers
was enough to join
a friendship from across

A grilled platter
of shrimp, chicken,
beef and pork
sufficed to fill our

Wander home, in a place
not our own. With
dreams it is where
we’re meant to be.
